Get Involved

The architecture of the built environment creates the setting and framework for lives lived – a setting undergoing continuous change, often compromised by expedience. In communities overwhelmed by sustained crisis and lacking the resources or vision to cope, the results can be tragic.

For many of us, involvement in the building professions transcends the businesses that we serve and the architecture of the places we help to create. In the face of environmental and social upheaval around the globe, many of us feel called to step out of our daily routines and help. - but you ask - “How can I connect to those in need in a way that is responsible and effective?”

Where-ever you are in your career, AWB-Oregon is the organization to contact when you are ready to devote time and offer your skills and life experiences to humanitarian based projects locally and worldwide. The role of AWB is to help professionals and students and other volunteers in our region become involved in projects and programs consistent with their interests and with our mission and goals. Whether you have six months to travel or a free lunch hour, please consider how you can help.

Planners - Designers - Construction Managers – and other design industry professionals comprise our core competency whether as a volunteer or partially compensated professional. Folks in related fields, including fundraising, communications, healthcare, law, cultural expertise, and business who care about the built environment are also much valued members of our team.

AWB-Oregon is assembling a database of interests and skills to help you connect to projects that will be of interest to you where you are needed. To get involved come to one of our meetings and/or Click here to become part of the volunteer database.
